Arsenal’s new star signing Viktor Gyökeres (27) has been handed the iconic No.14 shirt — once worn by club legend Thierry Henry.
But the Swedish striker has no plans to invite comparisons with the French great. “Of course, I know the history. To be honest, there weren’t many numbers available. But that one was, and the choice was easy,” Gyökeres told the press.
“I just want to do my job”
“I’m not looking to be compared to what he achieved, especially here. I just want to do my job and show my qualities. Of course, he was an incredible player — but very different from me.”
Henry scored 226 goals in 370 appearances for the Gunners. For Gyökeres, the journey is just beginning.
