Erling Haaland (25, 48 games, 34 goals in all competitions in 2024-2025) addressed critics of his playing style in an interview with Time Magazine, conducted during the Club World Cup in the United States.
Often labeled a “tap-in merchant” — a striker who supposedly only scores easy goals — the Manchester City forward Erling Haaland didn’t shy away from the tag.
“What’s the hardest thing in football? If you’re a specialist in easy goals, it means you score a lot, right?” the Norwegian said. “I love it when people call me a tap-in merchant. I really do. It means you’re doing something right — something most players can’t do.”
Haaland, back in training with City, clearly embraces the criticism — and keeps letting his stats do the talking.
