Targeted by FC Barcelona, Julian Alvarez is unlikely to move. Atlético Madrid is preparing a massive contract offer to shut down any transfer interest once and for all.
After a strong season, Julian Alvarez has naturally attracted attention, particularly from Barça, who are looking for a top-level attacking reinforcement. But in Madrid, the message is clear: there is no intention to sell. The Colchoneros see their Argentine striker as a key figure for the club’s long-term project.
Atlético Moves to Secure Alvarez’s Future
According to Marca, the Spanish club is even willing to go further to fully secure their player’s future.
Atlético is preparing a significant salary increase for Alvarez, with wages potentially reaching €10 million per year. This substantial raise would place him among the highest earners in the squad, on par with Jan Oblak. Already under contract until 2030, the former Manchester City player could also see his deal extended.
And as if that were not enough, his current release clause, set at €500 million, already acts as a nearly insurmountable barrier. In other words, barring a completely unlikely twist, Barça can keep dreaming: Alvarez looks set to stay at Atlético Madrid.
