It’s game over for Willian Pacho and Lucas Hernandez. The two PSG defenders won’t feature again in the Club World Cup – not even if Paris reaches the final against Real Madrid. Following their red cards against Bayern Munich, FIFA has handed them both two-match suspensions.
Early Exit, Early Vacation. The verdict came quickly: both players are banned for two games. That means they’ll miss the final if PSG goes through. With Luis Enrique already facing a defensive crisis, the blow is major. In response, PSG didn’t hesitate — both Pacho and Hernandez have been released from the squad and are already on their way back to Paris.
No Time Wasted
The decision was made swiftly and in full agreement with the coaching staff. The defenders will now begin their off-season early, although they’re expected back for preseason with the rest of the squad.
Now What for PSG?
With two key pieces gone, Enrique is left to improvise. The Parisians are still aiming for the title… but will have to get there without two of their defensive rocks. A tactical headache awaits.
