Neymar broke down in tears like after a World Cup victory! On Monday night, the former PSG star experienced a completely surreal moment after learning he had been selected with Brazil for the 2026 World Cup. After more than two years away from the Seleção and a long series of injuries, the Santos player may not have believed he would ever relive something like this again.

He made it. And it was far from guaranteed. Surrounded by close friends and family, Neymar (34 years old, 128 caps, 79 goals) burst into tears the moment Carlo Ancelotti announced his name in the squad list.

It was a massive moment for the former Paris player, who has come back from a very difficult period physically. Despite another injury-hit season with Santos, Neymar will indeed be part of Brazil’s squad for the 2026 World Cup. Carlo Ancelotti is relying on Neymar’s experience, while also avoiding a huge controversy in Brazil. Leaving Neymar out would undoubtedly have caused an explosion of criticism.

The video of his emotional reaction is already blowing up across social media in Brazil. Now comes the hard part: performing on the pitch. And performing well… so he does not end up crying again like after the 2014 World Cup.
