Ligue 1: PSG Push Further Into Legend With 14th French Title

Paris Saint-Germain are officially the 2025-2026 French champions. Thanks to their 2-0 victory away at RC Lens on Wednesday night at Bollaert, the Parisian club secured the 14th Ligue 1 title in its history and continues to dominate French football. It is a historic triumph, as the Rouge & Bleu also won a fifth consecutive league title, an absolute first in PSG history.

In a fiery atmosphere in Lens, Luis Enrique’s men once again delivered despite the pressure and a very dangerous RC Lens side. Led by a monumental Matvey Safonov in goal, who produced eight decisive saves, Paris showed its clinical edge to seal another league crown.

Young PSG Squad Continues To Dominate France

This season, PSG dominated nearly every area of the championship. Best attack in Ligue 1 with 73 goals scored and 18 different scorers, best defense with 17 clean sheets, eleven away victories, and an average possession rate of 69.4% — the highest across Europe’s top five leagues — the numbers confirm Paris’ overwhelming superiority.

Luis Enrique’s project has also impressed because of its youth. With an average age of just 23 years and 365 days, PSG fielded the youngest team in its Ligue 1 history this season. Several academy talents such as David Boly, Mathis Jangeal, Quentin Ndjantou, and Noah Nsoki also made their professional debuts in Paris colors.

After the match, Luis Enrique admitted this title had been particularly difficult to secure. “Without any doubt, Lens did a great job and it was very difficult, the hardest of the three we’ve won,” the Spanish coach told beIN SPORTS.

He also praised Safonov’s incredible display: “RC Lens deserved more. But Safonov played an extraordinary match.” Meanwhile, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi celebrated another historic title while highlighting the collective strength of PSG. “At Paris Saint-Germain, the real star is the team,” said the club president, already focused on the next major objective: the Champions League final against Arsenal on May 30 in Budapest.
