A controversy involving Neymar quickly gained traction in Brazil before fading just as rapidly. His former personal chef, Marcela Lermy Mingorance, has denied filing any legal action against the Santos striker.
A few days ago, Brazilian outlet Metrópoles reported that the chef had taken the Brazilian star to court over allegedly abusive working conditions. She was said to have accused him of making her work up to 14 hours a day under particularly difficult conditions, while also mentioning injuries linked to her work.
Former chef rejects claims of legal action
Marcela Lermy Mingorance quickly responded to put an end to the controversy. In a message posted on Instagram, she stated that she had never filed any complaint against Neymar or anyone in his entourage. “I have never filed a complaint for labor law violations, nor any legal action against him or anyone associated with him,” she said.
The chef, who worked for Neymar between 2013 and 2018, also emphasized the nature of their professional relationship. According to her, their collaboration always took place with respect and professionalism, contrary to the information circulating in recent days. She also denounced the spread of false information using her image, after an Instagram account wrongly claimed that she had filed a complaint seeking €43,000 in damages. Legal steps have reportedly been initiated to remove the content and identify those responsible, bringing the controversy to a close.
