It’s now confirmed: Kylian Mbappé will wear the number 10 shirt for Real Madrid this season. The Spanish giants made the official announcement on Monday, putting an end to weeks of speculation.
Mbappé had been handed the number 9 upon his arrival last summer, but with Luka Modric’s departure to AC Milan, the club’s legendary number 10 became available — and it now belongs to the French superstar.
KM10, Just Like with France
Mbappé already wears the number 10 for the French national team, and Real Madrid’s decision further cements his status as the new face of the club. Spanish media reports say Modric personally gave his blessing.
The forward hinted at the switch with a simple post on X: “10.” Real Madrid followed up shortly after with the official confirmation.
