It’s official: James Trafford is returning to Manchester City. The 22-year-old goalkeeper has signed a five-year deal with the English champions, who have agreed a €31.2 million transfer fee with Burnley — well below the original €47 million buy-back clause.
A product of City’s academy, Trafford now comes back to the Etihad to compete for the No. 1 spot. His arrival could pave the way for Ederson’s departure, with the Brazilian goalkeeper strongly linked to Galatasaray in recent days.
The England U21 international is expected to become a key figure for the future, as Pep Guardiola refreshes his squad after yet another Premier League triumph.
