In search of a new president following the departure of Pablo Longoria, Olympique de Marseille is actively working behind the scenes to find the ideal profile. Its owner, Frank McCourt, has spoken out to clarify his expectations.
In an interview with Le Journal du Dimanche, the American businessman emphasized the importance of a leader who fully understands the local context. “My preference is for someone who knows France and Marseille well; I believe it is crucial to understand the club’s culture,” he explained.
A Strategic and Experienced Leader Needed
Beyond this local grounding, McCourt also wants to recruit a strong profile, with extensive experience and the ability to manage a club of this magnitude. “The person must be a high-level and experienced manager,” he added.
As for the timeline, the OM owner remains optimistic. “I hope we will announce it before the end of the season,” Frank McCourt stated, suggesting that internal discussions are already well advanced.
