Himad Abdelli has decided his future. Courted by both Olympique de Marseille and Olympique Lyonnais during this winter transfer window, the Angers midfielder has chosen to join OM.
The 26-year-old Algerian international, who has made 13 appearances and scored 2 goals in Ligue 1 this season, had been on the radar of both clubs for several weeks. Two weeks ago, Lyon seemed to be in the lead in this race.
Abdelli Chooses Marseille for His Future
But the trend has completely reversed in recent days. According to information from Foot Mercato, confirmed by RMC, Abdelli made his choice on Wednesday in favor of the Marseille club. The radio station even mentions that an agreement has been reached with Marseille on a five-year contract.
Marseille’s executives will now have to reach an agreement with Angers to finalize the deal. SCO are reportedly asking between 4 and 5 million euros to release their player this winter, even though he has only six months left on his contract. If negotiations fail, Abdelli could simply join OM for free next summer.
