Álvaro Arbeloa has been chosen to try to change Real Madrid’s trajectory after Xabi Alonso’s departure. And he seems to be succeeding, notably thanks to a better connection with his players. But the club is still thinking about what comes next… with some big names.

Real Madrid will have a renowned coach in the coming months. Once again, many names have circulated regarding the club’s future, but in the end a pure product of the academy was chosen. Among the coaches whose names keep coming up is Jürgen Klopp, who will have to wait a little longer.

Klopp, a long-running rumor in Madrid

For more than ten years, the German has been regularly linked with Real Madrid, especially during crises or coaching changes. Despite rumors from Germany about a possible return to the touchline, Klopp himself played things down: “I am at a point in my life where I am completely at peace, and I am where I want to be. I don’t want to be anywhere else.” He did, however, leave the door slightly open: “For now, I would say no, but you can never say never. I don’t expect to change my mind, but you never know.”

Arriving at Liverpool in 2015 and leaving in 2024, Klopp made history at the club by winning, among other trophies, the Champions League. In recent weeks, his name has once again come up insistently, but once more the option has been ruled out. For now, it is indeed Álvaro Arbeloa who embodies the future on the Madrid bench.
