At Al Ittihad, the fallout with Benzema is still causing tension. His mid-season move to rival club Al Hilal has left a very bitter taste — and some figures are not holding back. Club legend Mohammed Noor has launched a fierce criticism.
According to the former Saudi midfielder, the French striker first disappointed, then shined… thanks to the full support of the fans. “In Benzema’s first season at Al Ittihad, he did nothing. In the following one, he destroyed everything.”
Harsh criticism after a controversial transfer
“And who supported him when he missed penalties? The supporters. We won everything afterward. And now, in the middle of the season, you say you no longer want to play for this team? But who do you think you are, in the end?” the former Saudi midfielder said on the Dawrina Gher show.
Noor drove the point home with a stinging comparison: despite his huge career, Benzema does not belong in the same category as Ronaldo. His blunt conclusion: “Compared to him, he’s not even mentioned. He’s nobody.”
