What if Lucas Beraldo were to create one of the surprises of the next summer transfer window? According to the Spanish outlet Planeta Real Madrid, the Paris Saint-Germain defender is on Real Madrid’s radar. A rather unexpected lead, given that the Brazilian has played very little under Luis Enrique, blocked by competition from Pacho, Zabarnyi and Marquinhos.
Signed by PSG with the label of a young player with high potential, Lucas Beraldo has struggled to earn a place in the rotation this season. At 22, his limited playing time raises questions about the future of his Parisian adventure, and several more modest options have already been mentioned, such as Nantes, Fenerbahçe, or even a return to Brazil.
Real Madrid Planning a Defensive Overhaul
On their side, Real Madrid are preparing for a major reshuffle in defense. The almost certain departures of David Alaba and Antonio Rüdiger at the end of their contracts will force the club to significantly renew that area of the squad. The Madrid hierarchy is primarily targeting an established defender, with prestigious names like Konaté or Guehi on the list, even if those deals promise to be complex and expensive.
But Real do not want to stop there. In addition to a major signing, the club would like to take a gamble on a young player with strong potential, and that is where Lucas Beraldo’s profile reportedly comes in. The move would be all the more appealing as PSG would not be asking for more than €25 million, only slightly more than what they paid to sign him two years ago.
At that price, Real Madrid would be very tempted to take the plunge, and for Beraldo, such an opportunity would obviously be hard to refuse. It remains to be seen whether this surprising interest will materialize. In Spain, the move is being discussed more for next summer than for this winter, but one thing is certain: seeing Lucas Beraldo go from the Paris bench to Real Madrid would clearly rank among the most unexpected moves of the upcoming transfer window.
