Luis Suárez may be nearing the end of his illustrious career — and the heavy defeat against PSG might just be the final trigger.
According to Spanish outlet AS, the Inter Miami striker is unlikely to extend his current contract, which runs until December 2025. In fact, the former Barcelona star is seriously considering retirement within the next six months, just ahead of his 39th birthday.
A smart exit for Inter Miami
Suárez’s departure wouldn’t just be a personal choice — it would also ease Inter Miami’s finances. As a designated “franchise player,” the Uruguayan is one of the highest earners at the club. Letting him go would provide a welcome financial breather for a team under growing economic pressure.
One last title before the curtain falls?
After a 4–0 thrashing at the hands of PSG in the Club World Cup, Suárez now wants to bow out on a high. The MLS title is the clear objective before he hangs up his boots.
Since joining the club in summer 2024, Suárez has already become Inter Miami’s second all-time top scorer with 34 goals — trailing only his close friend Lionel Messi (50). The countdown has begun for El Pistolero.
